382ff44716 sctp: handle the error returned from sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key
[ Upstream commit 022152aaebe116a25c39818a07e175a8cd3c1e11 ]

When it returns an error from sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key(), the
active_key is actually not updated. The old sh_key will be freeed
while it's still used as active key in asoc. Then an use-after-free
will be triggered when sending patckets, as found by syzbot:

  sctp_auth_shkey_hold+0x22/0xa0 net/sctp/auth.c:112
  sctp_set_owner_w net/sctp/socket.c:132 [inline]

  sock_sendmsg_nosec net/socket.c:714 [inline]
  sock_sendmsg+0xcf/0x120 net/socket.c:734

This patch is to fix it by not replacing the sh_key when it returns
errors from sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key() in sctp_auth_set_key().
For sctp_auth_set_active_key(), old active_key_id will be set back
to asoc->active_key_id when the same thing happens.

d333503de1 sctp: move the active_key update after sh_keys is added
[ Upstream commit ae954bbc451d267f7d60d7b49db811d5a68ebd7b ]

In commit 58acd1009226 ("sctp: update active_key for asoc when old key is
being replaced"), sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key() is called to update
the active_key right after the old key is deleted and before the new key
is added, and it caused that the active_key could be found with the key_id.

In Ying Xu's testing, the BUG_ON in sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key() was
triggered:

  [ ] kernel BUG at net/sctp/auth.c:416!
  [ ] RIP: 0010:sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key.part.8+0xe7/0xf0 [sctp]

So fix it by moving the active_key update after sh_keys is added.

[ Upstream commit 58acd10092268831e49de279446c314727101292 ]

syzbot reported a call trace:

This is an use-after-free issue caused by not updating asoc->shkey after
it was replaced in the key list asoc->endpoint_shared_keys, and the old
key was freed.

This patch is to fix by also updating active_key for asoc when old key is
being replaced with a new one. Note that this issue doesn't exist in
sctp_auth_del_key_id(), as it's not allowed to delete the active_key
from the asoc.

877b5691f2 crypto: shash - remove shash_desc::flags
The flags field in 'struct shash_desc' never actually does anything.
The only ostensibly supported flag is CRYPTO_TFM_REQ_MAY_SLEEP.
However, no shash algorithm ever sleeps, making this flag a no-op.

With this being the case, inevitably some users who can't sleep wrongly
pass MAY_SLEEP. These would all need to be fixed if any shash algorithm
actually started sleeping. For example, the shash_ahash_*() functions,
which wrap a shash algorithm with the ahash API, pass through MAY_SLEEP
from the ahash API to the shash API. However, the shash functions are
called under kmap_atomic(), so actually they're assumed to never sleep.

Even if it turns out that some users do need preemption points while
hashing large buffers, we could easily provide a helper function
crypto_shash_update_large() which divides the data into smaller chunks
and calls crypto_shash_update() and cond_resched() for each chunk. It's
not necessary to have a flag in 'struct shash_desc', nor is it necessary
to make individual shash algorithms aware of this at all.

Therefore, remove shash_desc::flags, and document that the
crypto_shash_*() functions can be called from any context.

check in it and check auth_enable only once in sctp_endpoint_init().

6396bb2215 treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b, gfp)

with:
        kcalloc(a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

The Coccinelle script used for this was:

// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

ec2e506c68 sctp: add SCTP_AUTH_FREE_KEY type for AUTHENTICATION_EVENT
This patch is to add SCTP_AUTH_FREE_KEY type for AUTHENTICATION_EVENT,
as described in section 6.1.8 of RFC6458.

SCTP_AUTH_FREE_KEY: This report indicates that the SCTP
implementation will no longer use the key identifier specified
         in auth_keynumber.

After deactivating a key, it would never be used again, which means
it's refcnt can't be held/increased by new chunks. But there may be
some chunks in out queue still using it. So only when refcnt is 1,
which means no chunk in outqueue is using/holding this key either,
this EVENT would be sent.

When users receive this notification, they could do DEL_KEY sockopt to
remove this shkey, and also tell the peer that this key won't be used
in any chunk thoroughly from now on, then the peer can remove it as
well safely.

This patch is to add sockopt SCTP_AUTH_DEACTIVATE_KEY, as described in
section 8.3.4 of RFC6458.

This set option indicates that the application will no longer send user

Note that RFC requires that only deactivated keys that are no longer used
by an association can be deleted, but for the backward compatibility, it
is not to check deactivated when deleting or replacing one sh_key.

1b1e0bc994 sctp: add refcnt support for sh_key
With refcnt support for sh_key, chunks auth sh_keys can be decided
before enqueuing it. Changing the active key later will not affect
the chunks already enqueued.

Furthermore, this is necessary when adding the support for authinfo
for sendmsg in next patch.

Note that struct sctp_chunk can't be grown due to that performance
drop issue on slow cpu, so it just reuses head_skb memory for shkey
in sctp_chunk.

ed5a377d87 sctp: translate host order to network order when setting a hmacid
now sctp auth cannot work well when setting a hmacid manually, which
is caused by that we didn't use the network order for hmacid, so fix
it by adding the transformation in sctp_auth_ep_set_hmacs.

even we set hmacid with the network order in userspace, it still
can't work, because of this condition in sctp_auth_ep_set_hmacs():

so this wasn't working before and thus it won't break compatibility.

ae36806a62 sctp: allow authenticating DATA chunks that are bundled with COOKIE_ECHO
Currently, we can ask to authenticate DATA chunks and we can send DATA
chunks on the same packet as COOKIE_ECHO, but if you try to combine
both, the DATA chunk will be sent unauthenticated and peer won't accept
it, leading to a communication failure.

This happens because even though the data was queued after it was
requested to authenticate DATA chunks, it was also queued before we
could know that remote peer can handle authenticating, so
sctp_auth_send_cid() returns false.

The fix is whenever we set up an active key, re-check send queue for
chunks that now should be authenticated. As a result, such packet will
now contain COOKIE_ECHO + AUTH + DATA chunks, in that order.

A very minimal and simple user space application allocating an SCTP

This is bad because of two things, we can bring down a machine from
user space when auth_enable=1, but also we would leave security sensitive
keying material in memory without clearing it after use. The issue is
that sctp_auth_create_key() already sets the refcount to 1, but after
allocation sctp_auth_set_key() does an additional refcount on it, and
thus leaving it around when we free the socket.

Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

What happens while auth_enable=0 in that case is, that
ep->auth_hmacs is initialized to NULL in sctp_auth_init_hmacs()
when endpoint is being created.

After that point, if an admin switches over to auth_enable=1,
the machine can crash due to NULL pointer dereference during
reception of an INIT chunk. When we enter sctp_process_init()
via sctp_sf_do_5_1B_init() in order to respond to an INIT chunk,
the INIT verification succeeds and while we walk and process
all INIT params via sctp_process_param() we find that
net->sctp.auth_enable is set, therefore do not fall through,
but invoke sctp_auth_asoc_set_default_hmac() instead, and thus,
dereference what we have set to NULL during endpoint
initialization phase.

The fix is to make auth_enable immutable by caching its value
during endpoint initialization, so that its original value is
being carried along until destruction. The bug seems to originate
from the very first days.

Fix in joint work with Daniel Borkmann.

c89304b8ea sctp: better integer overflow check in sctp_auth_create_key()
The check from commit 30c2235c is incomplete and cannot prevent
cases like key_len = 0x80000000 (INT_MAX + 1). In that case, the
left-hand side of the check (INT_MAX - key_len), which is unsigned,
becomes 0xffffffff (UINT_MAX) and bypasses the check.

However this shouldn't be a security issue. The function is called
from the following two code paths:

 1) setsockopt()

 2) sctp_auth_asoc_set_secret()

In case (1), sca_keylength is never going to exceed 65535 since it's
bounded by a u16 from the user API. As such, the key length will
never overflow.

In case (2), sca_keylength is computed based on the user key (1 short)
and 2 * key_vector (3 shorts) for a total of 7 * USHRT_MAX, which still
will not overflow.

In other words, this overflow check is not really necessary. Just
make it more correct.

51e97a12be sctp: Fix out-of-bounds reading in sctp_asoc_get_hmac()
The sctp_asoc_get_hmac() function iterates through a peer's hmac_ids
array and attempts to ensure that only a supported hmac entry is
returned. The current code fails to do this properly - if the last id
in the array is out of range (greater than SCTP_AUTH_HMAC_ID_MAX), the
id integer remains set after exiting the loop, and the address of an
out-of-bounds entry will be returned and subsequently used in the parent
function, causing potentially ugly memory corruption. This patch resets
the id integer to 0 on encountering an invalid id so that NULL will be
returned after finishing the loop if no valid ids are found.

5a0e3ad6af include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h
percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being
included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which
in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files
universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies.

percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for
this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those
headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion
needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is
used as the basis of conversion.

  http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py

The script does the followings.

* Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that
only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used,
gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h.

* When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include
blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms
to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains
core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered -
alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there
doesn't seem to be any matching order.

* If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly
because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out
an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the
  file.

The conversion was done in the following steps.

1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly
over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h
and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400
   files.

2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion,
some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or
embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added
   inclusions to around 150 files.

3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits
from #2 to make sure no file was left behind.

4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed.
   e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab
APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually.

5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically
editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h
files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h
inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually
wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each
slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as
   necessary.

6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h.

7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures
were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my
distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few
more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things
build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq).

   * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config.
   * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig
   * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig
   * ia64 SMP allmodconfig
   * s390 SMP allmodconfig
   * alpha SMP allmodconfig
   * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig

8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as
a separate patch and serve as bisection point.

Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step
6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch.
If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch
headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of
the specific arch.

    HMAC: 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000

The assignment of NULL to key can safely be removed, since key_for_each
(which is just list_for_each_entry under the covers does an initial
assignment to key anyway).

If the endpoint_shared_keys list is empty, or if the key_id being
requested does not exist, the function as it currently stands returns
the actuall list_head (in this case endpoint_shared_keys. Since that
list_head isn't surrounded by an actuall data structure, the last
iteration through list_for_each_entry will do a container_of on key, and
we wind up returning a bogus pointer, instead of NULL, as we should.
