2d9ce177e6 i386: Allow KVM on i386 nonpae
Currently, CONFIG_X86_CMPXCHG64 both enables boot-time checking of
the cmpxchg64b feature and enables compilation of the set_64bit() family.
Since the option is dependent on PAE, and since KVM depends on set_64bit(),
this effectively disables KVM on i386 nopae.

Simplify by removing the config option altogether: the boot check is made
dependent on CONFIG_X86_PAE directly, and the set_64bit() family is exposed
without constraints. It is up to users to check for the feature flag (KVM
does not as virtualiation extensions imply its existence).

de32e04175 x86 Kconfig: change X86_MINIMUM_CPU_MODEL to X86_MINIMUM_CPU_FAMILY
The X86_MINIMUM_CPU_MODEL name isn't really right, so change it to
X86_MINIMUM_CPU_FAMILY. Also, the default minimum should be 3, not 0.

9d9bbd4d24 i386: Make CMPXCHG64 only dependent on PAE
It is only used for PAE kernels in set_64bit.

The problem is that due to a old Windows bug many CPUs need magic MSRs
to enable CMPXCHG64, and we can't do that nicely early enough before
it is potentially used.

But since we only need it in PAE kernels so only force the checking
for CMPXCHG65 with PAE.

This fixes a boot failure on Transmeta Crusoe

c7f81c9453 [PATCH] i386: Verify important CPUID bits in real mode
Check some CPUID bits that are needed for compiler generated early in boot.
When the system is still in real mode before changing the VESA BIOS mode
it is possible to still display an visible error message on the screen.

Similar to x86-64.

0949be3509 [PATCH] i386: Add an option for the VIA C7 which sets appropriate L1 cache
The VIA C7 is a 686 (with TSC) that supports MMX, SSE and SSE2, it also has
a cache line length of 64 according to
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/cpu/rmma-via-c7.html.  This patch sets
gcc to -march=686 and select s the correct cache shift.

f0d1b0b30d [PATCH] LOG2: Implement a general integer log2 facility in the kernel
This facility provides three entry points:

	ilog2() Log base 2 of unsigned long
	ilog2_u32()	Log base 2 of u32
	ilog2_u64()	Log base 2 of u64

These facilities can either be used inside functions on dynamic data:

	int do_something(long q)
	{
		...;
		y = ilog2(x)
		...;
	}

Or can be used to statically initialise global variables with constant values:

	unsigned n = ilog2(27);

When performing static initialisation, the compiler will report "error:
initializer element is not constant" if asked to take a log of zero or of
something not reducible to a constant. They treat negative numbers as
unsigned.

When not dealing with a constant, they fall back to using fls() which permits
them to use arch-specific log calculation instructions - such as BSR on
x86/x86_64 or SCAN on FRV - if available.

1b4ad242fc [PATCH] uml: fix processor selection to exclude unsupported processors and features
Makes UML compile on any possible processor choice. The two problems were:

*) x86 code, when 386 is selected, checks at runtime boot_cpuflags, which we do
   not have.

*) 3Dnow support for memcpy() et al. does not compile currently and fixing this
   is not trivial, so simply disable it; with this change, if one selects MK7
   UML compiles (while it did not).

96d55b882b [PATCH] uml: reuse i386 cpu-specific tuning
Make UML share the underlying cpu-specific tuning done on i386.

Actually, for now many config options aren't used a lot - but that can be done
later. Also, UML relies on GCC optimization for things like memcpy and such
more than i386, so specifying the correct -march and -mtune should be enough.
Later, we may want to correct some other stuff.

For instance, since FPU context switching, for us, is done (at least
partially, i.e. between our kernelspace and userspace) by the host, we may
allow usage of FPU operations by GCC. This doesn't hold for kernelspace vs.
kernelspace, but we don't support preemption.
