e7bef6b04c sparc64: Fully support both performance counters.
Add the rest of the conflict detection and resolution logic necessary
to support more than one counter at a time on sparc64.

The structure and implementation closely mimicks that of powerpc.

0299b1371d sparc: convert to arch_gettimeoffset()
This patch converts sparc (specifically sparc32) to use GENERIC_TIME via
the arch_getoffset() infrastructure, reducing the amount of arch
specific code we need to maintain.

The sparc architecture is one of the last 3 arches that need to be
converted.

This patch applies on top of Linus' current -git tree

I've taken my best swing at converting this, but I'm not 100% confident
I got it right. My cross-compiler is now out of date (gcc4.2) so I
wasn't able to check if it compiled. Any assistance from arch
maintainers or testers to get this merged would be great.

8654164f54 sparc32: Fix page_to_phys().
It doesn't account for phys_base like it should, fix by using
page_to_pfn().

While we're here, make virt_to_page() use pfn_to_page() as well, so we
consistently use the asm/memory-model.h abstractions instead of
open-coding memory model assumptions.

6df1c17699 sparc: copy_from_user() should not return -EFAULT
From: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>

Callers of copy_from_user() expect it to return the number of bytes
it could not copy. In no case it is supposed to return -EFAULT.

In case of a detected buffer overflow just return the requested
length. In addition one could think of a memset that would clear
the size of the target object.

445c89514b locking: Convert raw_spinlock to arch_spinlock

7466bd3caa sparc64: Fix clock event multiplier printf format.
The type got changed to u32, so %lx generated warnings
(and thus build failure on sparc64)

Stephen Rothwell fixed it like so:

-	printk("clockevent: mult[%lx] shift[%d]\n",
+	printk("clockevent: mult[%ux] shift[%d]\n",

But that's not a valid transformation, we now get:

clockevent: mult[51539607x] shift[32]

in the logs.

Fix it to use the correct plain "%x" instead.

6b2f3d1f76 vfs: Implement proper O_SYNC semantics
While Linux provided an O_SYNC flag basically since day 1, it took until
Linux 2.4.0-test12pre2 to actually get it implemented for filesystems,
since that day we had generic_osync_around with only minor changes and the
great "For now, when the user asks for O_SYNC, we'll actually give
O_DSYNC" comment. This patch intends to actually give us real O_SYNC
semantics in addition to the O_DSYNC semantics. After Jan's O_SYNC
patches which are required before this patch it's actually surprisingly
simple, we just need to figure out when to set the datasync flag to
vfs_fsync_range and when not.

This patch renames the existing O_SYNC flag to O_DSYNC while keeping it's
numerical value to keep binary compatibility, and adds a new real O_SYNC
flag. To guarantee backwards compatiblity it is defined as expanding to
both the O_DSYNC and the new additional binary flag (__O_SYNC) to make
sure we are backwards-compatible when compiled against the new headers.

This also means that all places that don't care about the differences can
just check O_DSYNC and get the right behaviour for O_SYNC, too - only
places that actuall care need to check __O_SYNC in addition. Drivers and
network filesystems have been updated in a fail safe way to always do the
full sync magic if O_DSYNC is set. The few places setting O_SYNC for
lower layers are kept that way for now to stay failsafe.

We enforce that O_DSYNC is set when __O_SYNC is set early in the open path
to make sure we always get these sane options.

Note that parisc really screwed up their headers as they already define a
O_DSYNC that has always been a no-op. We try to repair it by using it for
the new O_DSYNC and redefinining O_SYNC to send both the traditional
O_SYNC numerical value _and_ the O_DSYNC one.

4230fa3b89 sparc64: Fix overly strict range type matching for PCI devices.
When we are trying to see if a range property entry applies
to a given address, we are overly strict about the type.

We should only allow I/O ranges for I/O addresses, and only allow
CONFIG space ranges for CONFIG space address.

However for MEM ranges, they come in 32-bit and 64-bit flavors.
And a lack of an exact match is OK if the range is 32-bit and
the address is 64-bit. We can assign a 64-bit address properly
into a 32-bit parent range just fine.

So allow it.

2d4dc890b5 block: add helpers to run flush_dcache_page() against a bio and a request's pages
Mtdblock driver doesn't call flush_dcache_page for pages in request. So,
this causes problems on architectures where the icache doesn't fill from
the dcache or with dcache aliases. The patch fixes this.

The ARCH_IMPLEMENTS_FLUSH_DCACHE_PAGE symbol was introduced to avoid
pointless empty cache-thrashing loops on architectures for which
flush_dcache_page() is a no-op. Every architecture was provided with this
flush pages on architectires where ARCH_IMPLEMENTS_FLUSH_DCACHE_PAGE is
equal 1 or do nothing otherwise.

bffbc94a4d sparc64: Fix definition of VMEMMAP_SIZE.
This was the cause of various boot failures on V480, V880, etc.
systems.

Kernel image memory was being overwritten because the vmemmap[]
array was being sized to small. So if you had physical memory
addresses past a certain point, the early bootup would spam
all over variables in the kernel data section.

The vmemmap mappings map page structs, not page struct pointers.
And that was the key thinko in the macro definition.

This was fixable thanks to the help, reports, and tireless patience
of Hermann Lauer.

49ab972aea sparc: Remove BKL from apc
commit ab772027 (sparc: arch/sparc/kernel/apc.c to unlocked_ioctl)
added lock/unlock_kernel() to the apc ioctl code.

The code needs no serialization at all. Neither put/get_user nor the
read/write access to the sbus devices require it. Remove BKL.

cycle_kernel_lock() was added during the big BKL pushdown. It should
ensure the serializiation against driver init code. In this case there
is nothing to serialize. Remove it as well.

dd17c8f729 percpu: remove per_cpu__ prefix.
Now that the return from alloc_percpu is compatible with the address
of per-cpu vars, it makes sense to hand around the address of per-cpu

created to stop people accidentally using these vars directly.

Now we have sparse, we can use that (next patch).

9d24c888c7 of: Rework linux/of.h and asm/prom.h include ordering
In preparation to prune things out of the Sparc, PowerPC and Microblaze
asm/prom.h files, change the #include statements to ensure that
even if asm/prom.h is included first, linux/of.h gets to determine the
order in which files are processed.

This patch adds a #include <linux/of.h> to each of the prom.h files
*above* the multi-include protection macros to ensure that linux/of.h
can define things before prom.h gets processed.

At the end of the merge the cross dependencies between the files should
be gone and a sane #include scheme can be restored.

a2e2725541 net: Introduce recvmmsg socket syscall
Meaning receive multiple messages, reducing the number of syscalls and
net stack entry/exit operations.

Next patches will introduce mechanisms where protocols that want to
optimize this operation will provide an unlocked_recvmsg operation.

This takes into account comments made by:

. Paul Moore: sock_recvmsg is called only for the first datagram,
sock_recvmsg_nosec is used for the rest.

. Caitlin Bestler: recvmmsg now has a struct timespec timeout, that
works in the same fashion as the ppoll one.

If the underlying protocol returns a datagram with MSG_OOB set, this
will make recvmmsg return right away with as many datagrams (+ the OOB
one) it has received so far.

. Rémi Denis-Courmont & Steven Whitehouse: If we receive N < vlen
datagrams and then recvmsg returns an error, recvmmsg will return
the successfully received datagrams, store the error and return it
  in the next call.

This paves the way for a subsequent optimization, sk_prot->unlocked_recvmsg,
where we will be able to acquire the lock only at batch start and end, not at
every underlying recvmsg call.

3b885787ea net: Generalize socket rx gap / receive queue overflow cmsg
Create a new socket level option to report number of queue overflows

Recently I augmented the AF_PACKET protocol to report the number of frames lost
on the socket receive queue between any two enqueued frames. This value was
exported via a SOL_PACKET level cmsg. AFter I completed that work it was
requested that this feature be generalized so that any datagram oriented socket
could make use of this option. As such I've created this patch, It creates a
new SOL_SOCKET level option called SO_RXQ_OVFL, which when enabled exports a
SOL_SOCKET level cmsg that reports the nubmer of times the sk_receive_queue
overflowed between any two given frames. It also augments the AF_PACKET
protocol to take advantage of this new feature (as it previously did not touch
sk->sk_drops, which this patch uses to record the overflow count). Tested
successfully by me.

Notes:

1) Unlike my previous patch, this patch simply records the sk_drops value, which
is not a number of drops between packets, but rather a total number of drops.
Deltas must be computed in user space.

2) While this patch currently works with datagram oriented protocols, it will
also be accepted by non-datagram oriented protocols. I'm not sure if thats
agreeable to everyone, but my argument in favor of doing so is that, for those
protocols which aren't applicable to this option, sk_drops will always be zero,
and reporting no drops on a receive queue that isn't used for those
non-participating protocols seems reasonable to me. This also saves us having
to code in a per-protocol opt in mechanism.

3) This applies cleanly to net-next assuming that commit
977750076d (my af packet cmsg patch) is reverted
