62be90012c i386: Fix a couple busy loops in mach_wakecpu.h:wait_for_init_deassert()
Use cpu_relax() in the busy loops, as atomic_read() doesn't automatically
imply volatility for i386 and x86_64. x86_64 doesn't have this issue because
it open-codes the while loop in smpboot.c:smp_callin() itself that already
uses cpu_relax().

For i386, however, smpboot.c:smp_callin() calls wait_for_init_deassert()
which is buggy for mach-default and mach-es7000 cases.

[ I test-built a kernel -- smp_callin() itself got inlined in its only
  callsite, smpboot.c:start_secondary() -- and the relevant piece of
  code disassembles to the following:

0xc1019704 <start_secondary+12>:        mov    0xc144c4c8,%eax
0xc1019709 <start_secondary+17>:        test   %eax,%eax
0xc101970b <start_secondary+19>:        je     0xc1019709 <start_secondary+17>

  init_deasserted (at 0xc144c4c8) gets fetched into %eax only once and
  then we loop over the test of the stale value in the register only,
  so these look like real bugs to me. With the fix below, this becomes:

0xc1019706 <start_secondary+14>:        pause
0xc1019708 <start_secondary+16>:        cmpl   $0x0,0xc144c4c8
0xc101970f <start_secondary+23>:        je     0xc1019706 <start_secondary+14>

  which looks nice and healthy. ]

Thanks to Heiko Carstens for noticing this.

o Fix the build issue. Provided the definitions of missing functions.

o Don't have ES7000 machine. Only compile tested.

1833d6bc72 [PATCH] i386: modpost apic related warning fixes
o Modpost generates warnings for i386 if compiled with CONFIG_RELOCATABLE=y

o Some functions which are inline (acpi_madt_oem_check) are not inlined by
  compiler as these functions are accessed using function pointer. These
  functions are put in .text section and they in-turn access __init type
  functions hence modpost generates warnings.

o Do not iniline acpi_madt_oem_check, instead make it __init.

874c4fe389 [PATCH] i386: Allow to use GENERICARCH for UP kernels
There are some machines around (large xSeries or Unisys ES7000) that
need physical IO-APIC destination mode to access all of their IO
devices. This currently doesn't work in UP kernels as used in
distribution installers.

This patch allows to compile even UP kernels as GENERICARCH which
allows to use physical or clustered APIC mode.

e5428ede94 [PATCH] Compilation fix for ES7000 when no ACPI is specified in config (i386)
ES7000 platform code clean up for compilation errors and a warning.
Ifdef'd the ACPI related parts in the ES7000 platform code. They were
causing compile errors in certain configuration (without ACPI defined). I
think this approach would be best (as opposed to Kconfig changes) since it
only touches the subarch...

9338316c93 [PATCH] ES7000 platform update
This is platform code update for ES7000: disables IRQ overrides for the
recent ES7000 (Rascal/Zorro), cleans up the compile warning. The patch
only affects the ES7000 subarch.

56f1d5d52a [PATCH] ES7000 platform update (i386)
This is subarch update for ES7000. I've modified platform check code and
removed unnecessary OEM table parsing for newer systems that don't use OEM
information during boot. Parsing the table in fact is causing problems,
and the platform doesn't get recognized. The patch only affects the ES7000
subach.

ca05fea6db [PATCH] Do not enforce unique IO_APIC_ID check for xAPIC systems (i386)
This patch is per Andi's request to remove NO_IOAPIC_CHECK from genapic and
use heuristics to prevent unique I/O APIC ID check for systems that don't
need it. The patch disables unique I/O APIC ID check for Xeon-based and
other platforms that don't use serial APIC bus for interrupt delivery.
Andi stated that AMD systems don't need unique IO_APIC_IDs either.

1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
